Stow Valley Groundworks completed this driveway and field access track near Helston, Cornwall. The project involved preparing and improving the existing driveway before forming a durable new access track across the adjoining field.

The following photographs show the site before work began, the groundwork and construction stages, and the completed access.

The existing driveway was cleared and excavated to remove unsuitable material and establish the correct formation for the new surface.

 

 

Following excavation and preparation, a ground-reinforcement grid was installed to provide a stable, durable base while retaining the natural appearance of a gravel driveway.

The completed driveway provides a clean, practical and hard-wearing access, with the gravel finish complementing the rural setting and surrounding property.

As part of the same project, a new access track was constructed across the adjoining field, creating reliable year-round access while following the natural line of the land.

 

A substantial pond restoration and water-management project recently undertaken by Stow Valley Groundworks.

The works have included desilting and clearing the existing pond, restoring the silt traps and installing a new 600mm twin-wall stream bypass system.

A new concrete sluice arrangement has also been constructed, allowing the watercourse to be directed either through the pond or into the bypass as required.

Further works have included installation of the retaining/barrier system and associated improvements around the pond.

A challenging job involving plenty of water, silt and difficult ground conditions, but a great project to see taking shape.
