Pond Restoration, Desilting & Water Management Works

A substantial pond restoration and water-management project recently undertaken by Stow Valley Groundworks.Excavator Desilting and Restoring a large pond in Lewdown, Devon

The works have included desilting and clearing the existing pond, restoring the silt traps and installing a new 600mm twin-wall stream bypass system.

A new concrete sluice arrangement has also been constructed, allowing the watercourse to be directed either through the pond or into the bypass as required.

Further works have included installation of the retaining/barrier system and associated improvements around the pond.

A challenging job involving plenty of water, silt and difficult ground conditions, but a great project to see taking shape.
